Donkey basketball is always a hoot of a fundraiser, and this one was well attended at Bandera High School to benefit Project Graduation. It’s great to see the combination of community leaders, school faculty, and students all on equally unstable and humbling grounds.

The image of Bandera Police Chief Jim Eigner sailing off his steed made the front page of the newspaper. I wrote up a variety of humorous cutlines featuring colorful synonyms for “donkey,” but the hierarchy proclaimed they weren’t fit to print!

Ignoring the first quarter, Medina brought their A-game to their basketball playoff match against the Port Aransas Marlins at Pearsall tonight. The Bobcat boys picked up a big 71-30 win as they advance to the next round of post-season play, which I’m told will come Monday night.

The Bandera Lady Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaking defeat to the Devine Arabians in the first round of varsity girls basketball playoffs this evening. The game was played at the Paul Taylor Field House in San Antonio.

The Bandera Lady Bulldogs beat Schertz Clemens-Blue 4-0 in varsity girls soccer action tonight at the Bandera Middle School field.

The Bulldog varsity boys basketball squad fell hard to the Wimberley Texans after starter Derek Draper left the game early with a broken nose.

The Utopia varsity basketball squads were unable to pull out a homecoming win tonight against Knippa, with the Buffaloes losing 56-53 to the Rockcrushers and the Lady Buffs falling 59-36.
