The Bandera Bulldogs varsity squad looked strong tonight in their scrimmage against the Crystal City Javelinas. Beautiful backlighting for this set of photos, a rare treat for us sports photographers.

Medina Bobcats football looking very solid this year! Enjoyed about an hour of their scrimmage against La Pryor tonight while shooting alongside photographers Laura Sparks and Ginger LeStourgeon. There were plenty of extra referees on the sidelines doing some pre-season practice of their own, and they were good fun to chat with – these guys are vastly knowledgeable about the game and their role in it. All good fun.

Another year of high school sports is upon us, mates! This marks my 12th year having a blast shooting Bandera County sports as a photojournalist. It’s a real blessing to do what I do for a living.
Don’t worry, more sports photos are in line to post from this year’s completed spring sports – I just wanted to get a jump on this year’s sports posts.
