I had the extreme pleasure of photographing my friend Mitchell’s band The Vurdict in Kerrville tonight at the Guadalupe River Club. I always try to show up, take photos, and support any local bands or musicians performing in the area – but I was truly blown away tonight by this band. Insane amount of talent, insane polish on their music. Great original tunes, exceptional covers (30 Seconds To Mars? I swooned!).

You can check them out online at www.facebook.com/thevurdict, and my photos from tonight’s concert in the Bandera.net Gallery:

Bandera’s own rockin’ country star Charlie Montague was the headline concert at Sam’s Burger Joint on Wednesday, Jan. 12. The family and I enjoyed great burgers and fried mushrooms at the restaurant next door before the concert, then settled in to enjoy Charlie’s great country music.

You can find all of my photos from the concert in the Bandera.net Gallery:

Bandera hometown singer/songwriter Bruce Robison hosted an old-fashioned concert and street dance behind Boyle’s True Value Hardware Store the night of the Bandera High School homecoming, Oct. 15, 2010.

You can view my full set of photos from the concert in the Bulletin’s DotPhoto.com account:

Bandera crooner Charlie Montague VI is taking the national country music scene by storm, but hasn’t forgotten his hometown roots, recently playing a packed concert at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar on Oct. 7, 2010.

You can find all of my photos from the concert in the Bandera.net Photo Gallery. A few of my favorite highlight’s I’ve featured below.

Charlie Montague Concert at 11th Street Cowboy Bar – Oct. 7, 2010

Bandera, like any small town, produces more than its share of bands featuring talented young musicians. Unfortunately, most disappear as quickly as they form, music drifting into memory.

Bella Fool, I can confidently say, is the best band I’ve heard come out of Bandera since Rune. They are the small-town equivalent of a supergroup: Gilbert Rivera on vocals, Christopher Peterson on guitar, Chris Byman on drums, Erik Hillman on bass. If I were to hand pick a set of talents, these guys would stand out on any list.

I had the chance to photograph Bella Fool at their weekly Bandera Bowl performance Thursday night, which has to be one of the most unique venues I’ve shot at. My full set of photos can be found in the Bandera.net Gallery:

Bella Fool at Bandera Bowl – Feb. 25, 2010

You can catch up with Bella Fool’s music on MySpace and connect with the band on Facebook.

Don’t miss out; their Bandera Bowl weeklies are must-see, cover is cheap and includes bowling for hours, and there’s a big Bandera presence there for the band.

Below, Bella Fool’s great acoustic performance on KABB Fox News. Their musical magic here shows talent far beyond their years.
